      Are Seiko mod watches real automatics?

      Yes. Almost every build runs a genuine Seiko automatic movement, the NH35, NH34, NH38 or NH70 depending on the model. They are fully mechanical and self-winding, powered by the motion of your wrist. The chronographs use a VK63 meca-quartz, which pairs a quartz timekeeper with a mechanical sweep on the stopwatch hand.

      Is a mod watch an original?

      Yes. Every watch is an original Rosevari build: a genuine Japanese automatic movement in a case and dial style that pays homage to the classics. Every watch is sold openly as a Rosevari custom build, never as the genuine article, and we disclose every part we use.

      Can I swim or dive with one?

      No. Every Rosevari watch is rated 5 ATM (50 m), which covers splashes, rain and everyday wear, but not swimming, showering or diving. Where a design references a dive watch, that is a style tribute and not a dive rating.

      Which model should I start with?

      The Datejust and Submariner styles are the most versatile and the most popular first watch. If you travel, the GMT adds a true second time zone. If you want the integrated-bracelet look, the Royal Oak and Nautilus styles are the ones to compare.
